Dear Parents and Guardians,

Hope you are having a great summer so far. It is almost time to welcome back our students for the new school year 2025-2026. The P.S. 583 staff are looking forward to seeing everyone’s faces next month. We are looking forward to having a productive school year.

Supply List 2024-2025 school year

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Hope everyone has a great summer. We are looking ahead to the new school year. The P.S. 583 staff are looking forward to seeing the students in September. We are looking forward to having a spectacular and productive school year.

Here are the School Supply lists for the 2024-2025 school year. Students are expected to wear a navy blue top and khaki bottoms (pants, skirt, jumper). Students MUST wear their uniform on school trips.

What’s Happening in NYC Public Schools

This Family Update provides important information about summer school, Summer Meals, summer
athletics programming, opportunities and support for high school students, and resources to support
families in continuing to build reading skills all year long.

School will be open for in-person instruction

Dear Families,

New York City public school buildings will be OPEN tomorrow, February 14th, 2024. All programs and activities will be held as scheduled.

We urge all New Yorkers to continue to exercise caution when traveling, use public transit whenever possible, and allow extra time for travel.

Pivot to remote learning on Tuesday, February 13

Dear Families,

Due to expected severe weather conditions, New York City Public Schools will pivot to remote learning on Tuesday, February 13.

While buildings are closed, school will be in session remotely for all students. Students in kindergarten and above will be expected to log on and participate in their classes from home.

Children attending LYFE or a 3K or Pre-K program in an elementary school or Pre-K Center should participate in the remote learning experiences outlined by their program.

All afterschool activities for Tuesday, February 13 will be canceled.

For information about digital learning tools, applications, and platforms used by the New York City Department of Education, please visit schools.nyc.gov/digitallearning.

Picture Day

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Here is a reminder that Picture Day is Tuesday, May 3, 2022. To purchase the student's pictures, please visit the link below. Use the Picture Day ID: EVTX2WRKP. You can sign up and pay at the link below. Please bring your student to school on time. Pictures will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.

Reminder: Uniform is needed for the class picture.
