• Supply List for 2026-2027 school year

  Dear Parents and Guardians,

  I hope you are having a wonderful summer! As the summer comes to an end, we are excited to welcome our students back for the 2026–2027 school year. The staff at P.S. 583 is looking forward to seeing all of our students and families in September and beginning another successful and productive school year together.

  Please find the 2026–2027 School Supply List attached. We kindly ask that all supplies be brought to school during the first week to help your child start the year prepared for success.

  In the meantime, we encourage you to continue having your child read every day. Daily reading helps strengthen important skills and prepares students for a great start to the new school year.

  Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We wish you a safe and enjoyable remainder of the summer and look forward to seeing you soon!

  Dear Parents and Guardians,

   

  Hope everyone has a great summer. We are looking ahead to the new school year. The P.S. 583 staff are looking forward to seeing the students in September. We are looking forward to having a spectacular and productive school year.

   

  Here are the School Supply lists for the 2024-2025 school year.  Students are expected to wear a navy blue top and khaki bottoms (pants, skirt, jumper). Students MUST wear their uniform on school trips.

• What’s Happening in NYC Public Schools

  Families,

  This Family Update provides important information about summer school, Summer Meals, summer
  athletics programming, opportunities and support for high school students, and resources to support
  families in continuing to build reading skills all year long.

• School will be open for in-person instruction

  Dear Families,

  New York City public school buildings will be OPEN tomorrow, February 14th, 2024. All programs and activities will be held as scheduled.

  We urge all New Yorkers to continue to exercise caution when traveling, use public transit whenever possible, and allow extra time for travel.

• Pivot to remote learning on Tuesday, February 13

  Dear Families,

  Due to expected severe weather conditions, New York City Public Schools will pivot to remote learning on Tuesday, February 13. 

  While buildings are closed, school will be in session remotely for all students. Students in kindergarten and above will be expected to log on and participate in their classes from home. 

  Children attending LYFE or a 3K or Pre-K program in an elementary school or Pre-K Center should participate in the remote learning experiences outlined by their program.  

  All afterschool activities for Tuesday, February 13 will be canceled. 

   

  For information about digital learning tools, applications, and platforms used by the New York City Department of Education, please visit schools.nyc.gov/digitallearning.
