About

PS 583 Bronx Lab School for Historical Discovery aims to get students interested in history. Our partnership with The New York Historical Society provides hands-on learning activities for parents, students and staff.  We also have a partnership with Education Through Music  which provides music lessons to all our students. 

PS 583 opened its door in 2017 with pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classes.  In 2019, we added a 3K classroom to support the needs of our youngest members of the community.  PS 583 will continue to add a grade each year until it is a full 3K to 5th grade school.
